2GO- A social network, founded in the year 2007 by  two  Johannesburg university students, Alan Wolff and Ashley Peter while in university.
2go which is a mobile messenger that allows users to chat with friends and family, connect with friends on Facebook, Google talk, Mxit and get recent updates on your Twitter account is one mobile application that is silently competing with Whatsapp in Africa as it can be found on  about 75-80%  of java supported phone in Nigeria.

This social network is said to posses over 10 million active users. With 4 developers and talented developers been recruited over the past six months, the two passionate founders has been able to drive the mobile messenger into the smart phone market, starting with the Android platform which is moving at a fast sale across the globe.

Android users, has been able to run the java version of the mobile app which was recently updated to version 3.6.4 with the use of java emulator for android (JBED) which could run successfully only on a rooted android device.
The first android version which includes push notifications, a sleek user interface making it intuitive and easy to use has been launched into the Google playstore and can also be downloaded directly from its official website- www.2go.im.


A co-founder of the 2go social messenger, Alan Peter described the version 1.0 of 2go for android a good first step which culled in a great feedback from users but much is expected from the developers as they work towards refining the app and adding to it great functionalities. When asked why it took time for the android version to hit the smart phone market he said “ making sure the first android version of the app met the high expectations of its passionate users, maintain same fun, social experience and also be a beautiful product that would be felt, look and behave like a smart phone app.”



“This is just the beginning” said the co-founder of 2go mobile messenger and that short sentence could make her users be expectant of an update soon as they also look forward to its arrival on the IOS platform.

ACER ICONIA W3- THE FIRST WINDOWS 8 TABLET




Acer Iconia W3 which was lauched this week at Asia's largest computer show was the first of it's kind. The tablet is the first 8-inch tablet to support the all windows app and pre-installed with microsoft office Home 2013 suite.
 The windows 8 tablet is powered by a 1.8GHZ dual core Z2760 intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB and 64GB storage capacity, a front and rear 2 mega-pixel cameras. It has a 1280*800 pixel, 8 inch screen, a 540g weight bundled in a 0.45 inch thick chasis and also posses a micro-HDMI output to allow connection to a Tv and/or a monitor.



 
A keyboard and a mouse can be connected to it to make a laptop and enable easy use and running of all window apps. With the Acer Iconia W3, you have both a tablet and a laptop and is set to hit the market this month at an expected retail price of $329 and $379 for the 32GB and 64GB storage capacity respectively.
 

A YOUNG PROGRAMMER AT THE AGE OF 13- JORDAN CASEY, C.E.O OF CASEY GAMES

Meet with Jordan Casey- a young programmer and also a tech entrepreneur aged 13, a student of De La Salle college in Waterford. He is among the self taught programmers and the C.E.O of Casey Games.

Jordan who said he's a fan of massive games got into programming at the age of 9 after purchasing a book on programming languages and then decided to change his act of playing game to creating games and also building a website on it.

He started with playing the club penguin game and decided to build a website on it. With dedication and determination, he has four games to his name and his company- CASEY GAMES.

In the year 2012, he released the iphone version of Allien Ball vs Human game which rose to the top of the irish Apple itune store , also with the green boy touch game and food world.

C.E.O Jordan Casey was at the TNW Conference in Europe alongside other tech entrepreneurs.
