China has been a vital consumer market for Apple Inc. as it
was confirmed of representing 15% of its total revenue with the sum of $23.8
billion made from china’s last sales.
China is known to be among the world’s largest smartphone market and
Apple stands a chance of losing out to its close rival, Samsung Electronics.
Criticisms were made
at Apple from China Central Television (CCTV) and the people’s daily on
accusing Apple of adopting a customer service rules that discriminates the Chinese
customers by refusing to offer new
phones for defective phones unlike in other countries and also refusal to
provide repaired phones with a one-year warranty, analysts are beginning to get
anxious that the Chinese government may take some restrictive steps and strict
policies against Apple’s actions.
Due to the criticisms made, the U.S based company on Monday laid
its apologies to its Chinese consumers in the form of a letter signed by the
CEO of Apple Inc.-Tim Cook
The letter which was
posted to the official’s Chinese website- www.apple.com.cn
was written in the Chinese language,
Mr Tim Cook sincerely apologized on its
warranty policies and arrogant response
to complaints . The Company has promised to make amendments to its
warrant policies for both the iphone 4 and 4s products by replacing them with
new phones inclusive of a one-year warranty, make efficient its customer
feedback, it has assured training of authorized re-sellers on its warranty
policy and it has clearly stated its enforcement on displaying the policy on
the company’s website.
